Google- the hulk of search engines is back with yet another breaking news for its users. Google instant which was launched back in 2010 and was applicable on Chrome, Firefox, safari and Internet Explorer 8 is now being dropped by Google. For the people who do not know what Google Instant exactly is? It is the feature that showed instant results as you kept on typing your queries. This feature was adopted to improve user experience and provide them information as quickly as possible.
Since more than 50% of the Google searches take place on mobile, the company decided to drop this feature, to bring it in coordination with mobile searches. As reported by Search Engine Land:
“We launched Google Instant back in 2010 with the goal to provide user with the information they need as quickly as possible even as the typed their searches on desktop devices. Since then, many more of our searches happen on mobile with very different input and interaction and screen constraints. With this in mind, we have decided to remove Google Instant, so we can focus on ways to make search even faster and more fluid on all devices” says a Google spokesperson.
This change is in effect and you will now be able to see this change as you type on the Google search bar. The search suggestions will appear but the search results will not load until to select any suggestion or click on the search button. This is again done in order to bring better services and make searches more fluid. Let us now see how this actually benefit user.
